Hey there, I’m Hayley! I firmly believe in caring for your body’s biomechanics and overall health.
It all started for me when I suffered a neck injury as a child that was brushed aside by a doctor, along with constant headaches. Luckily, a health professional visiting my school noticed I was walking with my feet pointing inwards. With the guidance of an osteopath and physiotherapist I started doing stretches and exercises to walk correctly again.
However, the root of the problem always stemmed from my neck being too tight, and treatment always stopping at this point.
Throughout junior and secondary school, I experienced four instances where I was paralysed with pain from the neck down. The muscles in the left side of my neck and across my shoulder would go into acute spasm, ripping off other muscles, dropping my right side an inch and a half compared to the left, and wrenching my neck vertebrae over.
Painkillers and muscle relaxants barely touched the nerve pain, and it would take about three weeks for things to ease up enough so that I could move again. Treating the symptoms wasn’t enough, and it would always reoccur and cause more trouble.
I’ve tried many forms of treatment to tackle the cause of my pain and prevent debilitating times. Some caused further injury, disfiguration, and more problem areas, but I’ve also encountered some great practitioners.
My experiences, learnings, and what the Fit3D proscanner reports helps me understand what’s happening with others and how I and other professionals can help them.
Having a fitness body scan can benefit everyone. It’s one of the best things you can do for yourself.
Once you see how you’re holding yourself and putting your weight through your body, you can be conscious of your unconscious habits. These are often to blame for not recovering fully from injuries and causing recurring pain troubles, requiring visits to chiropractors, physiotherapists, and osteopaths etc.
Visiting any of these professionals with your scan results helps them understand your biomechanics to treat you better. I can give you simple conscious reminders to avoid subconscious habits that may be causing structural pain and throwing things out.
Many people I’ve scanned notice significant improvements within two weeks, reduced pain, more unhindered mobility, and, in the longer term, they no longer need to seek other treatments or reach for painkillers.
Whether you’re a professional athlete or office worker, teenager to 60+, a scan can help identify and treat biomechanical issues and rehabilitate and prevent injuries.
We live in hectic times, and it’s easy to pop painkillers, but these not only don’t offer enough relief, they often have nasty side effects, and the whole time, the body is tightening more and becoming more imbalanced, which will cause further problems in other areas too.
Swapping detrimental unconscious habits for healthy ones takes barely any time and no strain on the body – it happens as you go about your day-to-day tasks and gets to work quickly. It’s much better to make your body as aligned and healthy as possible, including being in an ideal fat percentage range, and then you can enjoy everything in life more fully.
I love how great the proscanner is at keeping people motivated and rewarded by seeing their progress.
I chose a Fit3D proscanner as it’s the best on the market, teamed with DEXA. It takes into account your age, gender, race, exact measurements all over, balance, and posture to give a wellness score, body fat percentage, and weight in terms of lean tissue and fat mass, and it also calculates your basal metabolic rate, which is how many calories you burn at rest in a day.
This information is often surprising to people and can be enlightening as to why they may struggle to see results even when they’re going to a gym or following a generic diet plan. It’s essential to know that 2,000 calories for women and 2,500 calories for men guidelines on most food packages are often incorrect!
If you’re considering having a scan, don’t delay and book today! Many people seem to want to lose weight before they come for a scan, but the sooner you come, the sooner you have the tools to best help you on your fitness journey.
You’re also less likely to get injuries and more likely to see results, biomechanics and fat loss wise, plus you have an excellent base to show how much you’ve improved! Having a Fit3D body scan every 4-6 weeks is recommended to track your progress.
The scanning results have many comparison features, and you can select whether to compare from your first to last scan or any in-between, which may be useful if changing workouts or diet.
Aside from being a fitness enthusiast and helping others with biomechanics, I’m also a tailor for MADE-TO-WEAR. I use the body scanner to see exactly how I should pattern-cut a garment to fit and drape beautifully for each client.
For example, if a person’s shoulder is dropped and forwards, there needs to be more fabric to follow this increased contour.
I love making people look and feel great! Seeing the joy of someone putting on a garment I’ve made, in the fabric and with all the special details they’ve chosen, and it fitting them so well that they light up and can’t help but beam, enjoy moving about, and be excited for whichever occasion they’re planning to wear it at – it’s one of my biggest highlights.
I have young and old clients, and many enjoy going to the gym and need things made especially for them. Every shirt or jacket they try from ‘off the peg’ fits over their biceps or thigh muscles but bags out everywhere else. If they fit their waist, they look like Popeye or the Incredible Hulk about to split everything open!
Having clothes that fit in the colours and styles that suit you best feels awesome.
My favourite fitness classes, when I can find the time to go, are legs, bums, and tums, and yoga. I also have a big Dobie dog named Neo, and we enjoy walking with friends.
Besides this, I’m excited to be working on revolutionising the fashion industry and improving communities. With the advances in technology, things should be made locally, to need and conscientiously, with special regard to natural ecosystems – that dynamic change is possible. Watch this space!
